Bill offers extensive, diverse industry experience built on a foundation of high caliber general management and consulting experience. He has led many firms through performance improvement initiatives and helped them to realize high speed growth results.
In addition , Mr. O’Connell has served as the CEO of a successful electronic distributor, a media company with radio and film production holdings and a metal fabricating operation. Bill also has experience in Fortune 200 corporate leadership positions as a Product and Marketing Manager in well-known firms in the consumer products, chemical manufacturing, health care, and other business services.
In the course of his career, Bill has led and managed efforts to define attractive market segments, refine, reposition and differentiate products and services in hyper competitive environments, reengineered sales and service organizations, revised channel management strategies, directed new product development efforts, executed multi-dimensional market analyses, built and implemented the detailed tools and templates necessary for maximum execution of sales force performance, designed new incentive compensation plans and opened new markets.
Mr. O’Connell’s assignments have included many international and Fortune 500 Companies in the High Tech, Specialty Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Services, Media, Financial Services and Health Care Products Industries. In the last decade he has worked for smaller and medium sized firms and a number of private equity and high net worth investors
Bill has served as a Director of a number of private companies. Prior to co-founding Delray Partners, Bill was a Partner and Managing Director with a boutique consulting firm focused on the growth challenges of small and medium sized companies. He is the author of several books and articles focused on improving the performance of sales and marketing organizations.
Bill holds a B.S. (magna cum laude) and an M.B.A. from New York University. |
